Winged Migration - Bird Airports across Mediterranean (2014)

Bird Migration is one of the most fascinating aspects of the avian world in the mediterranean. Twice a year, billions of birds migrate vast distances across the med. Many species migrate along broadly similar, well-established routes known as flyways. The birds are facing multiple threats, including habitat loss and degradation, illegal hunting, infrastructure development, climate change and disease.

For them crossing into Africa, the Mediterranean constitutes a significant obstacle. especially for large species which rely on updrafts and thermals to maintain their soaring flight.

The objective of the project is to arise awareness of the relationship between human and nature by contribute to the conservation of migratory birds along their flyways.
